Hello! My name is Benjamin Stachkunas. I’m interested in a career in editing and camera operation. I’ve edited and filmed a few projects of my own in the past and found that I truly enjoyed the experience. Now that my son has graduated high school and is off to start his higher education attending the University of Hartford I’ve decided to pursue my own education.

   

 Over the years I’ve worked in restaurants. Whether it’s waiting tables, cooking, expediting a kitchen, washing dishes, or management, I’ve been involved in some capacity within the food service industry for over eighteen years. I left temporarily to work in retail management for two years which paid very poorly until I returned to work in restaurants because the money and hours are much better for my schedule.

I’m an avid film fan and have a rich appreciation for all types and facets of cinematography. I especially like Horror and remember watching films like Dracula (1931), the Mummy (1932) and King Kong (1933) as a child with my father, who gave me a free crash course on film growing up. Bela Lugosi is still one of my favorite actors today due to a rich education I was provided in classic cinema.
